Happy Spring everyone! It’s been a while since this site has been update but you’ll be happy to hear that we’ve got great news. First, I’d like to introduce your new RAMED Board for 2016: Lisa Zurburg as President, Melissa Biro as Treasurer, Kate Johnson as Secretary/Membership/Library, Mea Cicansky as Vice President/Events Co-Chair, Roxanne Rogowski as Events Co-Chair, and Annissa Spechko as Communications Chair. Feel free to contact any of us with your RAMED related questions and concerns. Our first order of business has been the eagerly anticipated RAMED show. We are still working the details but please add Saturday, June 18, 2016 to your calendars for Arabian Fantasy 2016. While the poster isn’t ready yet please send in your application to perform by May 15. Details and the online application form can be found on the Events page. We are looking for volunteers for the show. If you’d like to lend a hand, please email or contact us on Facebook. Remember to purchase your membership if you plan to dance in the show. RAMED membership gives you access to our library where you can borrow videos, music, and printed materials; access to Gale’s Wholesale Ltd.; a bursary program where you can apply for subsidy to attend a belly dance workshop (Ashley Kirkham will be here in April); information on local dance events on our website and Facebook; voting privileges to help make our dance community thrive; and lastly, your RAMED membership provides you reduced rates and performance opportunities at RAMED events. Your RAMED Board has many plans for the coming year so stay tuned for more news.

The weather outside may not feel like it but it is time to send in your applications for performance spots in our annual spring student show, Arabian Fantasy. Applications are accepted online at our Arabian Fantasy event page found here. Deadline for Applications is April 4th. Happy Shimmies!
